Setting the home page

With Responsive you have four options for your front page:

Custom Home Page

When you install Responsive for the first time the custom home page will be activated. If you wish to change this then the option can be found in the “Theme Options” under the “Home Page” options. If the box is checked the custom home page is activated.

Static page

First you need to deactivate the custom home page.

Then set in the reading settings a page to be the front page.

If you wanted a blog too then just assign a blank page to the “Posts Page” in the static page settings. This blog will show the full posts.

If you wish your blog page to show a summary then you need to remove the “Posts Page” and create a new page where the page template is set to “Blog Excerpt (Summary)”

Blog

To have a blog on the front page of your site you need to deactivate the custom home page.

Then set your reading settings to “Latest posts”

Blog Summary

First you need to deactivate the custom home page.

Then set your reading settings for a static page to be your home page. Then change the page template of the static page that you have just set to template to “Blog Excerpt (Summary)”
